Mary has had the Norovirus (vomiting and diarrhoea bug) since Tuesday. As you can imagine this has put a great strain on her already tired body. The good news is she has just gone a day and a half without any symptoms so we are hoping her body has been able to fight it. Go Mary!
After sleeping off the virus yesterday, Mary has seemed pretty awake today and started to turn her head, responding to new voices that she hears. She has also used this tactical move to keep a close eye on all the medications the nurses are putting into her.
Mary also seems to respond with a blink for 'yes' when we ask her if she is in pain after her heart rate accelerates. The nurses are then able to give her some more medication. Again, this is great progress.
You can fight it Mary -- come on!!
ReplyDeleteHey Mary,
ReplyDeleteI've been listening to your voice, it is beautiful...it's so tragic that I had to meet you in the circumstances that arose (I'm a firefighter that attended the incident)
We (and the watch) spoke to your parents for an update the other day, and I personally, am glad I can get updated through this blog. You are a very strong fighter Mary, we wish you all the best through your battle and rehabilitation. We hope to speak to you one day at the station. Keep fighting, you can do it.
Stay stong, Love and all the best...Andy Palmer and on behalf of the Blue Watch at Whitechapel Fire Station. x x
