Germs

As the winter months can be particullarly full of bugs its important we try to protect Mary as much as possible, here are a few tips from the hospital and will also apply at the care home:

  • please, please wash your hands thoroughly before and after seeing Mary and every time you hold her hand/ hand massage etc
  • make use of any antibacterial alcohol gel at the hospital or bring your own
  • after touching your bags / stuff you have brought in please wash your hands thoroughly before coming into contact with any of Mary's things.
  • be especially vigilant if you are using public transport as you are liable to be bringing in even more germs
  • if you have any cough / cold symptoms, make sure these have passed completely for 48hrs before going onto the ward
  • obviously do not go onto the ward if you have any D&V symptoms. If you visit Mary and have any D&V symptoms within 48hrs afterwards please inform the ward

Mary is suffering from some kind of chest infection at the moment and continues to be extremely vulnerable.  A serious infection could pose life threatening risks.
