It's been a tough few weeks but with the court case over its good to be able to focus on the future for Mary. Tomorrow she has a mini op in the afternoon and Thursday she is due to move to the Marillac in Brentwood. If you would like to visit Mary in her new place, i'm sure she would love that. The past few weeks have been positive, with us beginning to see small signs of progress for Mary. When our Aunt Kate, a singing teacher sung to Mary, Mary appeared to make noises back. When Dad read to Mary after she had lots of assessments done, she seemed to relax and be obviously comforted by his presence. On occasion Mary does seem to be moving her thumb on request. These are all small steps but we are encouraged by them, even when so much else can seem difficult. This time of year can be sad for so many of us who miss those we love around Christmas.
This week my 3 month old daughter Aahana started giggling, incessantly. It was quite a surprise and came out of nowhere, but it reminded me that there is always something to take joy in. Mary hasn't always been a big christmas fan, but usually found something to giggle about, whether it was a festive greyhound bus ride across the States, a wonky homemade mince pie or a ghastly Christmas jumper from the vintage store. I hope you find that something joyful this Christmas. Thanks for your continued prayers and support, from all of Mary's family.
