Mary's operation went well last week. As her body is still very tired and stressed from all the injuries, Drs decided to just operate on the left left during the operation. They put a nail in the leg which is allowing Mary to sit up slightly more in her bed. This helps with all her respiratory stuff and can help stimulate her brain to make her feel more 'awake'. The plan is the continue with the op for the right leg in a week or so, although this will be more complex owing to much more serious and complex fractures.
Mary does now have a CD player, so if you would like to make a CD of music to send to her, or record you speaking to her on CD and post that to us, you are really welcome. She does seem to respond to music when she is more awake by opening her eyes wider. Although that could just mean 'What the hell is that racket you just put on?'. Who knows.
