This week Mary has been transferred from Intensive Care to
High Dependency. This is a positive step down. It means she is requiring less
intensive one-to-one care and she can breathe without any assistance.
In this week’s physiotherapy sessions, although she remains unconscious, Mary began to show
more movement and react to sound. She is
also showing other small signs of progress like opening her eyes, and for
longer, although she cannot 'see' yet.
Mary’s wounds are also looking better. Where
skin has been taken from one part of her body to repair the loss of skin on
another part of her body, this has now taken well. Infection seems to - finally - be under some sort of control. Where bones have been pinned
in place the body is beginning to repair itself and swelling has gone down.
Love reading this blog although very hard to do so without crying. Thank you all. Sarah Bloch
