Auntie Mary

We purposely decided not to have photos of Mary on here during the first few months to give her some privacy. However, we felt that this was a beautiful photo of Mary meeting her niece Aahana for the first time, and that those of you who are unable to visit Mary may appreciate seeing her.

Good to see you Mary!

And thanks Laura for these updates. I only started at the Times a few months before Mary's accident and met her a handful of times, but she was so incredibly welcoming, and I come on here regularly to see how she's doing.

Good luck with the new rehab unit.

The Welcome Mat

Welcome to the waiting room.

Its an odd place, a new place, and yet we
have all been here for a while. You can
come here to see how Mary is.

We will try and update you.

Though you are longing to be
at her bedside, to squeeze her, kiss her,
and recite witty memories, we hope this
is better - for now. Hospitals, after all,
aren't great places to hang out, unless
of course you are sick.

Here you can sit and wait – with a cup of
tea or a glass of wine, cheer Mary on, and
say a little prayer towards her journey of
getting better-ness.

Our hope is that in time, she will come on
here, and correct our spelling, punctuation
and typeface choices...
